Manage documentation effort for J2EE platform development tool. AltoWeb extends an IDE to create, monitor, and deploy J2EE enterprise applications. Responsibilities include planning and implementing documentation suite and online Help for new and up-coming releases while maintaining existing documentation. In addition to being an individual contributor on the current release, responsibilities include creating 'how-to' docs for developer website, producing JAR files for online Help, and editing marketing materials and white papers.

Fresher Information Corp., San Francisco, CA:
Manager for Documentation and Training 7/00 to 7/01
Managed a 22-volume suite of new and existing documentation for MATISSE, an object-oriented database. Built documentation team consisting of both contract and in-house technical writers. Created documentation and training plans for both MATISSE and Klover (a CRM application built on top of MATISSE). Worked with various cross-functional teams to supply product documentation, technical marketing material, white papers, and website content.

Alike, Inc., Brisbane, CA: Co-founder 9/99 to 6/00
Created presentations, white papers, data sheets, overviews, and web content for Alike product, a unique three-button GUI for mobile devices, web portals, and cellphones. Gave product pitches, met with investors, worked with developers, and developed business plan. Company did not get funded.

Sun Microsystems, Palo Alto, CA: Technical Writer 4/98 to 8/99
Created documentation plans and user & technical guides for Persona Project. Developed online Help, users guide, installation, APIs, and related documentation. Wrote on online Help and documentation for Red October (set top box). As part of Human Interface and Information Design group, documented installation process and tools for Java and Solaris-based tools.

BEA Systems/WebLogic, Inc., San Francisco, CA: Documentation Engineer 4/97 to 3/98
Created documentation for WebLogic application server software (Tengah). Maintained technical FAQ, API documentation, press releases, technical tips, and put together glossary. Delivered all documentation online (HTML/PDF). Developed in-house style guide, copyedited and proofread marketing materials, technical specs, and documentation for external and internal websites. Wrote Quickstart guides for setting up downloaded software distribution.

Documented entire daily production process for large web site. Created training material for production site and custom tools. Founding member of a start-up company producing screenwriting software. Conducted market research, produced marketing and business plans, and documentation for Mac-based application designed to help writers develop screenplays for TV and film. Established business partnership, assisted in product design, created packaging and manual design, and developed product documentation. Product shipped spring 1992.
